Privacy policy

CPRE Kent, the countryside charity, works to enhance, promote and protect our towns and countryside including the communities within it. We couldn’t do this without support from people like you, and we are committed to protecting both your data and your privacy.

Who we are

At CPRE Kent we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our members, supporters and visitors to our website. We want you to know we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists/data with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy we have provided detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure. We will never share your personal data with third-party services or use it for any purpose other than that described in our Privacy Policy and throughout our website.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

CPRE Kent does not currently use website cookies.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.cprekent.org.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out information such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Wifi

CPRE Kent does not monitor any usage through our guest Wifi.

E-Newsletter Sign-up

When you sign up to our e-newsletter, your email address will either be added to a mailing list managed by MailChimp, a third-party provider used to deliver the newsletter or kept on a password-protected Excel spreadsheet. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, see MailChimp Privacy Policy.

Members’ Magazine

As a member/supporter of CPRE Kent, you are entitled to receive as part of your subscription a biannual magazine called Kent Countryside Voice, which is posted out twice a year to the address supplied to us by CPRE National Office. The mailing out of our magazine is handled by a third-party mail house, A L Mailing. A L Mailing is formally contracted to CPRE Kent to use your data for the sole purpose of the mailing out of Kent Countryside Voice, after which your data will be permanently deleted from its system. If you do not wish to receive the Kent Countryside Voice, then please email the office on info@cprekent.org.uk or use the contact form on this website. For more information, see A L Mailing’s privacy policy at A L Mailing’s Privacy Policy.

E-Contact Form

When you submit an entry on our contact form on our website, we will store the specific data you have submitted (name, address, telephone number, email) on our system until such time that the entry has been reviewed and responded to. If you would prefer no personal data to be stored, then please contact the office direct at info@cprekent.org.uk instead of using the contact form.

E-Membership Form

You can sign up for membership of CPRE Kent using a link on our website that directs you to the CPRE National Office website. You can opt in to any communications of your choice and CPRE National Office will hold that information centrally and also share that information with us so we can keep you informed of things that may interest you at local level. We also use your data to send you other information from time to time, including our members’ magazine, depending on what you have chosen to opt into. For more information, see CPRE National Office Privacy and Cookie Policy

E-Ticketing Data

From time to time we will host events and conferences. When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) we use a third-party ticketing service, Eventbrite. Any details you enter (name, address, email, telephone number) will be stored securely by Eventbrite for the sole purpose of administering ticketing information. For more information, see Eventbrite Privacy Policy. We may host an event or conference in partnership with another organisation. If we do, we may need to share booking data with that organisation.

Donations

When you donate to CPRE Kent you will be requested to provide details depending on which platform you choose. We use two third-parties, CAF Donate and Pay Pal. For more information, see CAF Donate Terms and Conditions and PayPal Privacy Policy. The information you give (name, address, telephone number, amount donated, form of payment, Gift Aid) will be kept securely by the donation platform of your choice and shared with us. We use this information to write and say thank you for your donation and for audit purposes. If you prefer not to give your details to a third-party donation platform, then you can donate directly into our bank account. Please call the office on 01233 714540 for more details.
