South Brooks Solar Farm

Click here, to read our response to the second phase of the consultation on this huge solar farm application intended for Romney Marsh. CPRE Kent object strongly to this proposal as, whille we agree with the transition to renewable energy, we know that we do not need, and should not, lose countryside in order to achieve it. Romney Marsh is currently subject to several solar farm proposals and the cumulative impact will be nothing short of a total industrialisation of the countryside. Read our response here.

South Kent Energy Park – Environmental Impact Assessment scoping response.

A Scoping Report is an early-stage document that should set out the proposed scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Heathlands Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping

Click here to read our recent response to the EIA Scoping Request. Heathlands Garden Settlement will be located to the East of the Maidstone between the villages of Lenham and Charing. This garden settlement looks to deliver 5,000 new homes. CPRE Kent have objected to this development at each stage due to concerns over it being very car-dependant and unsustainable with impacts on the nearby rural communities, best and most versatile farmland and impacts on the National Landscape.

Ash Levels Solar Farm – Appeal

Its potential impact on the scheduled national monument of Richborough Fort and Amphitheatre, convinced Dover District Council’s planning committee that the development should not be allowed to proceed and, on Thursday, November 27, members voted 10-0 to reject the 205-acre scheme from Norwegian state-owned company Statkraft (operating here as Little South Clean Energy Ltd) for Goshall Valley, East Street.

Statkraft / Little South Clean Energy Ltd are now going to appeal and we have been liaising with Save Ash Levels and others and have submitted our additional response to the appeal hearing.
