As we hope you know, 2026 is CPRE’s centenary year and we’re doing a whole lot of things to celebrate that.

Throughout the year we have been highlighting what makes the countryside special, the challenges it faces and the possibilities ahead – and one of the features we’ve put together is Love Your Countryside Month, a nationwide celebration of everyday acts of care, connection and collective action.

Love Your Countryside Month is September and of course CPRE Kent are fully onboard, having organised a rather special event at Leybourne Lakes on Sunday, September 20.

At our Love Your Countryside Day we’re planning to lay on a guided Hedgerow Heroes walk, outdoor cooking, nature-themed face-painting, outdoor cooking, ‘Forest School’ activities, artisan shopping, charity stands and information, birdwatching walks… and the chance to meet Betty the Badger!

The fun runs from 10am-2pm. The event is free to attend, but parking charges apply at the country park. We really look forward to seeing you there!
