Sea Link: read CPRE Kent’s representation to examination here
Monday, June 23: the deadline for anyone who wants to have their say on National Grid’s Sea Link scheme.
The company’s application for a Development Consent Order has been accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate and anyone choosing to take part in that process must register by midnight (11.59pm, to be precise) on Monday.
CPRE Kent have been involved from the outset in the campaign to protect Minster Marshes, much of which would be destroyed by NG’s scheme, and we have made our ‘relevant representation’ to the examination, which you can read here.
If you have yet to register as an interested party, you can do so here.
- Sea Link entails the development of an underwater electricity link between Suffolk and Kent with onshore converter stations at either end (Minster-in-Thanet, in Kent’s case). It is bad news for the countryside, bad news for wildlife and bad news for people, as detailed here.
